The award was given for the preservation of the purebred Akhal-Teke breed — as a national heritage of Russia.

For us, this is an important recognition. Not just of our work at the horse farm, but of the cause itself — preserving a rare breed that is part of our culture and history.

You know, there are encounters you just can't make up.

Our story began 8 years ago on an airplane — and continued... on May 12, 2026. An unknown caller politely informed us: "Please come to the airport. Your grandmother is waiting for you."

Wait. What grandmother?

A few moments of confusion and shock — and then it hit us. Our hearts skipped a beat.

Lyudmila Ivanovna. 91 years old. A siege survivor. Living in Moscow.

To honor Victory Day, veterans and siege survivors were given free flight tickets. And our brave heroine decided: "I want to see Leningrad." She simply got a free ticket and flew.

Alone. At 91.

But there was no one left for her here. No friends, no family. However, in her old phone, there was one saved St. Petersburg number — kept for 8 years. Amina's number. They had chatted on a plane years ago and never saw each other again.

Amina took the siege survivor into her home, and the next morning (May 13), the grandmother made one request: "Take me to the horse farm. I want to see the horses."

That day became one of the brightest in the history of our farm.

Watching a 91-year-old "girl" from besieged Leningrad stroke our Akhal-Tekes, laugh, and look into their eyes with tears — our hearts tightened.

She doesn't complain. She lives. Fully, eagerly, joyfully.

She smells of pies, strength of spirit, and that unbroken Leningrad.

Do you know what it's like when someone is willing to wake up at 4 AM, fly halfway around the world, and come back — just for a horse farm?

I do.

This story was given to me by Aisha from Pakistan. We met last fall, thanks to our mutual friend Alexander, at the opening of his first SLAVA department store of Russian brands in St. Petersburg. Guests from different countries gathered there, including the head judges of the international "Admiralty Needle" competition. And Aisha was one of them.

When Alexander introduced me as someone who works with horses, her face lit up. Through a translator, she said: "I used to ride, but now my biggest wish is just to be at a stable."

Everyone felt awkward. The transfer was at 11 AM, the flight at 1 PM. Guests, escorts, the organizer: "Aisha, don't go, nobody knows the way there, it's not safe." But her eyes burned with something you don't say no to.

So I said: "Yes, let's go. We'll be back at the hotel by nine in the morning."

Honestly? I wasn't sure she'd actually go through with it. But at 4 AM, my phone buzzed. Aisha was already in a taxi: "I'm ready. Where do I go?"

She came to my place, we got in the car, and drove off into the silence. Autumn forest. Not a soul. Just the sound of hoofbeats and breathing.

I took her for a ride on our Akrapa along the still-sleepy paths. She wasn't just happy — she was crying. Then she said: "This is the best experience of my entire trip to St. Petersburg. Thank you for letting a dream come true."

We became friends. Two women — one from Pakistan, one from St. Petersburg — at a stable at four in the morning.

And then, just the other day, on May 18, she came again. And she brought a gift: bracelets with tiny bells. For the horses. For my big, warm, patient friends.

The first to see them was our black Akhal-Teke stallion, Aynur. He had never seen anything like it — his ears perked up, he froze, and cautiously breathed in the new sound. We didn't put the bracelets on his legs — we just had a calm training session to get him used to them. Aynur accepted it all. As if he understood: this thing had traveled all the way from Pakistan to jingle here, in the night silence, next to him.

People often ask me why I need horses and this life without weekends. Now I just show them the bells from Pakistan and tell them about Aisha, who didn't sleep that night. Because dreams don't wait for convenient schedules.

Thank you, Aisha. For your courage, for these jingling gifts, and for choosing, in a world ruled by tickets and deadlines, to simply be with horses. That means the world.

On May 23, our noble Akhal-Teke horses — Akrapa and Yashma — took part for the first time in the work of the Leningrad Region's mounted Environmental Militia. And right away, they were part of a major environmental event!

As part of the "All-Russian Forest Planting Day" campaign at the Orlinskoye Forestry, we joined the State Environmental Supervision Authority in reforesting the region. Nearly 1,000 people came together for the event: employees of the Leningrad Region Administration, volunteers, and community representatives.

The mounted Environmental Militia was created to patrol forests and detect illegal dumpsites in hard-to-reach areas. Akhal-Tekes, with their endurance and agility, are perfectly suited for this task. Now we can reach remote areas faster and protect nature more effectively.

Today I want to share a warm new story with you. We came to the celebration at the Mga Boarding School, where our colleagues — the Leningrad Region Committee for State Environmental Supervision and the Environmental Militia — had organized a true family day in honor of Ecologist Day.

While the students of the "ART" theater troupe performed dances and moving skits on stage, the charming raccoon Yegor (the mascot of the State Environmental Supervision Authority) — together with our Yashma and Akrapa — brought smiles to the faces of both children and adults. The kids came up, timidly stroked their velvety noses, and in their eyes lit up that special light that no amount of money can buy.

Standing there, I felt an incredible sense of pride. Our purebred Akhal-Teke mares are the first to serve in the Leningrad Region's mounted Environmental Militia. They are now essential partners in patrolling forests and fighting illegal dumpsites in hard-to-reach areas. But today, they served not the forest — but children's hearts. And that, perhaps, is the most important patrol of their lives.

Caring for nature is love for your home — love that we pass down from generation to generation. And if there's room in this home for horses, raccoons, trees, and laughing children — then we're doing everything right.

Friends, today I want to share some joyful and truly inspiring news with you.

On June 12, our team attended the First International Horse Festival "Konifest," hosted at the welcoming grounds of the Prior Equestrian Club. It was a stunning event — a sea of grace, strength, beauty, and, of course, horses from all over the world.

We took part in the Comparative Ring of the Akhal-Teke breed, and our stallions performed admirably.

Yantar — our cremello yearling, sunny and light, much like his coat itself. A golden-pink shimmer, like a true gemstone, and already such presence! He won a cup — and this is only the beginning of his journey. We are infinitely proud of our little star.

Yakhont — a two-year-old, serious and stately. He is already a true gentleman, and although the main trophy went to Yantar this time, Yakhont showed everyone that the Akhal-Teke breed is about endurance, nobility, and that very "heavenly grace" celebrated in legends.

Standing in the ring, seeing the judges' burning eyes, feeling the support of the audience, and knowing that your horses are a true treasure — these are emotions like no other.

A huge thank you to the organizers of the "Konifest" festival and the Prior Club for such a magnificent celebration. You brought together people who love horses just as much as we do. It was beautiful, professional, and deeply heartfelt.

Our Akhal-Tekes will show themselves again. Yantar is taking home not only a cup but also a promise: to keep training, growing, and delighting us with his victories.

In July, a film crew from the Russia-1 TV channel visited our horse farm to create a segment about the work of the Leningrad Region Environmental Militia. The "Vesti St. Petersburg" broadcast featured how our purebred Akhal-Teke horses help inspectors patrol forests and hard-to-reach trails.

The shoot took place in a warm and professional atmosphere. Despite the hot weather and the activity of forest insects, our horses — including Aynur and Yantar — showed remarkable calm and friendliness, which allowed the TV crew to successfully complete their work.

We are grateful to the "Vesti" team for their professionalism, their gentle treatment of the horses, and their genuine interest in the work of our horse farm.

Akhal-Tekes in Action: Mounted Patrol Documents Non-Compliance with Environmental Orders at the Putilovo Dumpsite

The 64th kilometer of the Kola Highway in Putilovo has long been on the Environmental Militia's radar. This plot of land, designated as agricultural land, has repeatedly been the subject of inspections due to illegal dumping. A recent patrol, conducted by the mounted unit together with the Len TV film crew, focused on verifying whether previously identified violations had been corrected.

Together with the Len TV team, our purebred Akhal-Teke horses covered the terrain, which remains difficult to access for foot inspectors and vehicles. Hidden beneath thick, tall grass, the mounted patrol discovered various types of waste — material that is invisible from the road and goes undetected during standard checks.

This outcome was made possible only by a thorough, meter-by-meter inspection from horseback. Horses provide mobility and a vantage point that fundamentally changes the quality of patrolling. What is hidden from view becomes visible.

The inspection result: environmental orders have not been fulfilled. The dumpsite has not been eliminated; the area has not been cleared. The mounted patrol documented the current condition of the site, and the patrol materials will be forwarded to regulatory agencies for enforcement action.

The patrol took place as part of our joint work with Len TV — the segment has already aired. The channel's attention to our work underscores the importance of mounted patrols in the Leningrad Region's environmental oversight system.

The work continues. Each patrol is not just an inspection, but an opportunity to see and stop violations where conventional methods fall short.
